Es ist davon auszugehen, dass altersabh\u00e4ngige Augenerkrankungen wie die fortgeschrittene trockene AMD oder geographische Atrophie in den kommenden Jahren zunehmend auftreten werden. Derzeit sind weltweit mehr als 5 Millionen Menschen von dieser Erkrankung betroffen, doch d\u00fcrfte sich die Pr\u00e4valenz in den n\u00e4chsten 20 Jahren auf mehr als 10 Millionen verdoppeln.9<\/sup><\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
